This last week has been a little trying, but it's moving along nicely. I have a hair appt on Saturday! I can't wait! Don't you just love that fresh, new-hair, beautiful feeling?! That's not all going on... I finished my signs for our family room, re-arranged the hutch, and started planning my next big DIY on a dime for White Walls... And, we are still awaiting a response from the Voluntary Separation application.

The main colors in our house are blue, gray, and white. I love the coolness and easy feel of those colors. I also love how easy it is to add pops of colors to those. I love yellow with blues, so these fit right in in the family room. To tie them in a little, I'm going to paint a couple frames already on the opposite wall yellow.

The hutch has so much possibility and I continually want to change it. I want to put all of my cookbooks on it, but I don't want to clutter it. So, I added our family name sign to it. I think it fits perfectly. Now to figure out what to do with the cookbooks... I'm not in love with what I have on there now, but I have so much I want to display.
There are so many projects that I want to do for White Walls, that I could probably do one a week and still not run out of ideas. I'll be posting it after Valentine's Day.
On a sweeter note, I made incredible midnight fudge cupcakes. They were EPIC! Huge hit with the guys and at home. I'm not normally one to used box cake mix, but this looked too good to pass up. I found the recipe on Pinterest.. The recipe I used can be found on the Oh Bite It Blog!
It was super easy to put together and was gone in less than 24 hours. Her version calls for half of each box. I used ALL of both boxes. I usually bake and take it into my hubby's office... that means I am feeding wolves. HAHA! There are about 7 men in there, but they eat for 20, so I double recipes. I love baking, but I don't want to eat it all, so the boys get it. They don't complain. Until it comes time to PT test.
I made each batch following the recipe on the box in separate bowls. Of course, I tested each. I ended up making mine into cupcakes and then one 9in round cake (only about 1in tall). I try to make things easy to eat in the office, so no cutting and plating up if I can help it.
The cupcakes came out perfectly with an ooey gooey center that was topped off with the fudge that came in the box. It didn't come with enough to cover all 24 cupcakes and the cake, but I did whip up some of my famous chocolate buttercream to go with those, so don't worry.
Next week I'll be making fortune cookies and finishing up with my White Walls blog post. I will also be working on a room challenge from White Walls. The challenge this month is the Master Bedroom. Ours needs some work, there isn't anything on the walls, and it doesn't really feel like us. Pictures and progress will be up with next weeks post.
I hope y'all have a wonderful Friday and Weekend!
Until next time...

I'm supposed to be cutting back on gluten, but this was before I got my labs back. Definitely let me know how it goes! I need more sweet gluten free recipes. Thanks! I need to update my etsy shop. :)
